Charles B. Peterson Jr.'s Obituary
Charles B. Peterson, Jr., age 85, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2013. Born in Rochester, NY and graduated from Lincoln High School – Tacoma. He served in the US Army during the Korean War where he learned to become a heavy equipment operator. He later took those skills to create a good living for himself and his family. He worked and retired from Glacier Sand and Gravel at the site of what is now known as Chambers Bay Golf course. Chuck always said with all his years working at the gravel mine he helped build the course. As a golf enthusiast he was very proud of the course and, especially so, when his family celebrated his 80th birthday with a round of golf on the course.
Chuck is survived by his wife and best friend, Margaret. Together they were wonderful dance partners and partners in life. Between Chuck and Margaret they have seven children; Keith(Nancy)Peterson, Kirk (MaryAnn) Peterson, Kathy Peterson, Barbara (Tim) Hill; Mary (Mark)Vail ; Kathy (Gerald) Gibson; Anne Bauer. His grandchildren were his joy and he had 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Chuck will also be missed by his brother Ray (Nanci) Peterson, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside service will be held for family members on Friday, December 27th at 2:30pm at Mountain View Cemetery with a reception to follow.
