Charles P. Heintz
Charles was born December 27, 1931 in Rochester, New York and died July 7, 2009 in Lakewood, Washington. Charlie served his country in the United States Army for 27 years. He served time in Korea from 1951 through 1953 in the First Calvary. He also served in Vietnam from 1965 through 1968, and again in 1971 through 1972. While in Vietnam he earned two Bronze Stars and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. Remember Ashau Valley 1967! Charlie was a lifetime member of the AMVETS, The VFW-Post #2329, Aerie 3 Eagles and the Moose Lodge #1865.
Charlie is preceded in death by his mother and father (Sophie and Peter Heintz), brother Jacob, and sisters Sophia, Madeline, and Margaret. He is now reunited with his grandson Aaron Ducharme.
Charlie is survived by his wife Hildegard of 46 ½ years, son Charlie, daughters Lydia Helmholz (Steve) and Diane Maclean (Darrel), granddaughters Ashley Heintz and Carrissa Hass, grandson Nigel Ducharme (Amber), and soon to come to this world, a great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brothers Peter and George, his sister Marie Heiman (Elmer), many nieces and nephews, and many more relatives in Germany.
Charlie loved fishing, crabbing, gardening, and his all time favorite, making his favorite wine. Charlie was a provider to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
