Charles McMillan's Obituary
Charles McMillan, age 94, passed away peacefully at home on 7-2-2006. He was born on 11-13-1911 in Denver, CO and moved to Tacoma when he was a child. He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen, of 65 years, son Charles S. McMillan, daughters Bonni Parker and Mary Ovist, grandchildren Andrea VanDyk and Roy Ovist, and great-grandchildren Austin and Baby Roy. Charles was a star athlete in high school and college and an avid sports fan all his life. He proudly served in the Marine Corps during World War II and received a Purple Heart. He was a dreamer and a thinker with so many interesting and clever ideas. His yard and flying the American flag were very important to him. He loved bowling and enjoyed socializing with the many bowlers he knew. There will be no service at this time. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VA Hospital, Tacoma Rescue Mission, or a charity of your choice. You will be in our thoughts and heart forever. Knute Rockne and Mickey Mantle will definitely get a kick out of you!
