SMSGT Charles Edward Mandrell's Obituary
Born in Scottsville Kentucky June 14,1928 passed away Thursday August 25, 2016.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Margaret E Clement- Mandrell , daughters Charlotte Hall of Graham WA ,Linda Feinauer of Texas., 10 grandchildren , great grandchildren and his sister Joyce Stinson.
He was the 3rd oldest of 9 children. He lost his oldest sister and younger brother when they were children. Joyce is the baby and only surviving sibling.
Charles was a true patriot and was very passionate about this country. He retired with a honorable discharge after 30 years in the Air Force. He worked as crash firefighter for McChord Airforce Base and retired the Civil Service after 27 years. He entered the military in 1947 serving in Japan during WW11. He entered the reserved only to be recalled for the Korean War in 1950. He was stationed at Mcchord Airforce base where he met his wife and lived out the remainder of his life.
He worked at the Bangor Sub base as Fire inspector for Pan Am airlines for 5 years. Then worked for one year with the Coast Guard in North Carolina before finishing his career.
He enjoyed 20 years of retirement traveling the US. Playing golf ,scuba diving ,fishing ,hunting and exploring this great country. At the age of 78 he settled in Lakewood Washington with his wife.
