Charles M. Granoski,'s Obituary
Charles M. Granoski, Sr., died peacefully on September 10, 2002. Born April 12, 1920, Chuck was born to Leunora and Frank Granoski in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA, where he entered the US Army in 1941 during WWII to serve in the Panama Canal and Europe. He was discharged honorably in 1945. Chuck met his wife to be, Anne, while stationed in Tacoma. Together they raised their family until AnneÂ's death in 1979. Through mutual friends, Chuck met, and later married, Marie Giovengo in 1980. Together until his death, he helped Marie raise her three beautiful children, they worked together in their business, and tended their beautiful home and yard. Chuck worked for many years in the woodworking business, where he retired from Pickering Industries, at age 65. Thereafter, he and Marie owned and operated JimmyÂ's Tavern in Tacoma, where they made many lasting friends. Chuck had a natural aptitude and love for baseball and golf. Chuck is survived by his wife, Marie; children Carol Ann Drysdale (Oscar), Patricia Copeland (Dale), and Charles Granoski, Jr. (Candace Cragg); grandchildren Richard Drysdale, David Drysdale, Larry Westholm, Leigh Westholm, and Lucky Alexis Rowen-Granoski; stepchildren Mike, Mark and Anthony Giovengo; siblings Ann and Joey of Wilkes-Barre, PA; and his dog, Princess.He loved them all, and they him. He will always be remembered as a wonderful husband and father, a kind and selfless man, with a great sense of humor.A Viewing will be held on Friday, September 13, 2002 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in the Mountain View Garden Chapel.
