"Gone Fishing"
It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt regret that I announce the passing of my beloved husband, friend and the true love of my life, Chuckie. Charles passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. A true warrior and fighter to the very end. Charles loved the Lord and by God's grace was able to endure his sickness and keep looking up. Born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Mary Ruth and Johnny Wright, Charles was then raised and very much loved by his grandparents in Lyons, Kansas until the age of twelve where he began his new life in Seattle, Washington. He moved to Tacoma where he continued his education and received dual degrees. He shared his knowledge with anyone who wanted to expand their mind. Charles worked many years in the shipyards and as a drug and alcohol counselor for the state of Washington. He enjoyed bringing darkness to light. Well done Charles! Preceded in death by his mother Ms. Mary Ruth Powers; his two sisters, Antoinette Alexander and Winon Cox; brother Anthony Cox; his much loved grandparents Bechar and Bess Lawrence; and his dear father and mother in laws Mr. Daniel and Azzie Montgomery. A Tree with many branches for lots of birds. People leaned on and loved Charles. His legacy will be the love he had for others. His memory will live on in the many friends and people that were fortunate enough to know such a humorous, intelligent, and amazing man. Good bye my love until we meet again! A heartfelt thank you to all of the Doctors, Nurses, in patient and out patient Dialyses department at St. Joseph Hospital, Rev. and Mrs. Allen Ceburn, Rev. Gregory Christopher, Joyce Jefferson, and everyone who loved and cared for Charles while he completed his earthly journey. Charles kept a special love in his heart for his niece Chakel and the love was mutual. He leaves his undying love to his wife of nineteen years, Mary Ann Wright, his brother, Pernell Alexander-Cherry, his many nieces, nephews, and expanded family members, also he was loved by his 2 kitties, Spudd and Scooter. Services will be held Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, 11am at Shiloh Baptist Church 1211 So. "I", Tacoma, WA, 98405. Dr. Rev. Gregory Christopher. officiating. Godspeed my love always and forever.
