Dr. Charles Joseph Cowan D.D.S.
Charles was born on May 5, 1923 in Tacoma, Wa and passed away peacefully on October 24, 2008 at the age of 85. He was preceded in death by his wife Miriam of 48 years. Survived by his sons James (Rose), Thomas (Denise), Robert (Clark) and 9 grandchildren. He attended Bellarmine Preparatory School and was a three year letterman in football. He received a full football scholarship to the University of Puget Sound and he also attended the Seattle University. He served in the US Army during the Korean War as a Lieutenant and was honorably discharged as a Captain. He finished his dentistry training at the University of Oregon and had his private practice in the south end of Tacoma for over 40 years. He was an avid golfer with his family and friends. We want to thank Billie McAlinden and her staff at "Home Away From Home" in Tacoma for their special care and attention during the past year. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 1:00 pm at the Mountain View Funeral Home Garden Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd., Lakewood, 98499. Reception for family and friends following the services.
