Choi Halladay
Charles Bert Halladay, who was known to family and friends as “Bert,” passed away in Tacoma on July 23, 2013 at the age of 79. Born in Polson, Montana as the youngest of three children to Ray and Clara Halladay, Bert moved to Tacoma with his parents when he was a young child. Although he was stationed in Washington, DC during his military service, he lived primarily in Tacoma for the remainder of his life.
A graduate of Lincoln High School, after his military service he attended and graduated from Pacific Lutheran College. Upon completion of his Bachelor’s degree, he began work at Boeing Commercial Aviation, but soon after left that position and started his own business in residential and commercial construction and roofing.
After a marriage of 45 years, he is survived by his wife, Aaste Halladay, 2 children, and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
A memorial service is planned on September 7, 2013 at 2:00PM at The Tacoma Mountaineers Lodge.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in his honor to the Humane Society of Tacoma-Pierce County.
