Charles H. Guest's Obituary
Longtime Parkland resident Charles H. Guest died at home on May 2, 2006 at the age of 88. He was loved and respected by those who had the good fortune to know him and will be remembered for his generosity and kindly spirit. Charles was born in Jacksonville, FL on April 28, 1918. In 1940 he joined the Army Air Corps and witnessed the attack on Pearl Harbor. Following his retirement as a Master Sergeant in 1968, he worked at Puget Sound Bank for 14 years. Charles always loved to tell stories about his childhood and Military experiences. He enjoyed woodworking, taking pictures, and collecting coins and other trinkets, along with feeding the squirrels in his yard. He was preceded in death by his first wife Rosetta and is survived by their three daughters Rose Buckelew of LA, Nina Rehburg of TX, and Robbie Eylander of WA, along with their families including 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his current wife Trudy and her two daughters Trudy Fuhriman and Heide Mitchel along with their families including nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Charles was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Viewing will be held from 12-9 PM on Sunday May 7, 2006 at Mountain View Memorial Park. Funeral Mass will be held at 9 AM on Monday May 8, 2006 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church (14601 A. St. So., Tacoma, WA) with interment at Mountain View Memorial Park following the church service.
