Charles Edward Colyar's Obituary
Charles Edward Colyar, age 94, of Tacoma, WA, passed away peacefully at Kings Manor in Tacoma on September 15, 2014. Chuck was born in Crandon, WI on August 22, 1920 to parents Jack and Olga Colyar. He had five siblings, Earl, Iola, Jessie, Mary and Arvid. He joined the Navy during WWII, then married Dorothy Heater on November 21, 1941. They raised their family, James and Marcia, in Tacoma, WA. Chuck retired from the Bremerton Ship Yard as a welder with thirty years of service. He and Dorothy later moved to Clear Lake, WA in their retirement. Chuck loved to hunt, fish and invent things. He spent many years helping others around his neighborhood. He leaves behind six grandchildren Laura Colyar of Florida, Charles Colyar Jr of WA, Eddie Jones, Leah Sammons, Danny Jones all of Missouri and Josh Cook of Texas. Chuck also leaves behind nine great grandchildren, ten great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy and his two children James and Marcia. There will not be a public service but family and friends are encouraged to express their thoughts and sentiments on this site.
