Charles Augustus Brown's Obituary
Charles Augustus Brown Born January 2, 1934 in Queens, New York passed away peacefully October 27, 2017 at the age of 83 in Lakewood, WA. Charles was a decorated Air Force Veteran and ILWU Longshoremen. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Lucille Brown, daughters Ruth King, Patricia Ellington, Deborah Garrison, Lesley Ahmed, sons Charles Brown and Steve-O Brown, sons in law Brian Garrison and Abdul-aleem Ahmed, 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grand-children, sisters Charlotte Brown and Gloria Scavella, brother William Brown, and many close family friends. He is preceded in death by sisters Lois (Honey) Floyd and Florence (Dinky) Brown. Charles was an outstanding mechanic and handyman...a jack-of-all-trades and a master of none as he used to say. He is fondly remembered for his sense of humor, his love of poetry recitations - the pool playing monkey a perennial favorite - his generous charitable contributions and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was extremely proud of his family and dearly loved his wife Lucille. Viewing will be 10am to 2:30pm Thursday, November 2, 2017 in the main building of Mountain View Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Memorial Park. Reception afterwards. In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to the Nourish Pierce County Food Bank.
