Charles ‘Chuck’ Brazel, 90 Years Old
‘Chuck’ was born to John and Marie in 1930 in Southern California. He played High School Football where earned the nicknamed him ‘Razzle Dazzle Brazel’ and graduated Burbank High in 1948. He went on to play Football for the Stanford Cardinals, his senior year he was a member of the 1952 team that went to the Rose Bowl. He graduated Stanford with BA in Business. Following college, he spent 2 years in the Armed Services and left with an Honorable Discharge in 1955.
Chuck started his career with the Mobile Oil Company in 1955 as a regional sales rep. and married hi love Patricia in 1956. They soon moved to Lakewood, WA. to start a family.
In the mid 1960’s Chuck purchased his own service station and was a fixture in the Lakewood neighborhood through the 60's and 70's. He sold the service station in the late 1970’s.
In his retirement he was an avid runner and a regular at the Lakewood YMCA. He also enjoyed fly fishing, oil painting, wine making, and was very involved with Oakbrook Swim and Tennis Club helping with maintenance and upgrades. One of his greatest joys was volunteering at the Nisqually Refuge where he shared his knowledge of the Refuge History and Wildlife with visitors far and wide. Chuck will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Chuck is survived by his 3 children and wife: Patty (85), Ann (63), Chris (61), and Michael (56).
