Charles LeRoy Badgley's Obituary
Charles L. Badgley was born December 20, 1931 to Bert and Nettie Badgley of Bonney Lake, WA., where he was raised with brothers: George(deceased , Louis (deceased), and Donald; sisters: Evalyn, Mildred (deceased) Maybelle (deceased), and Ethel.
He had a special relationship with his life-long friend and brother-in-law Elvin Seeley. Chuck has many, many nieces and nephews whom he loved, laughed with, and told stories. He worked at Boeing for 33 years in quality control in Renton, WA.
Chuck and Joyce raised their family in Bonney Lake and moved to Yelm after retiring in 1995.
His life was full of creative and ingenious do-it-yourself projects that he loved doing with his grandsons. He took a piece of wet, clay property in Yelm and made a park with the help of Miss Kubota. He loved the birds and enjoyed their presence and antics. His shop was the local fix and repair and social gathering place.
His grandsons made many creative projects with his guidance. If they could think it he could build it with them. The grandsons' summer vacations were an adventure of go-carts, little motorcycles, and tractor rides on the trails in the woods. The boys always chose to have their celebrations at Grandpa's. Our favorite was the Medieval Feast, with a cardboard castle made by daughters. Following the Feast came the Great Food Fight (outdoors) and a jousting match on go-carts.
He loved the outdoors, nature, and his family. He was active and busy to the very end. He loved his "chunk of land," sculpting it into his own private paradise.
