Charles A. McCarthy's Obituary
Charles A. J. McCarthy "Mack" was born June 8, 1938 in Troy New Tork and passed away peacefully on May 23, 2009. He grew up in Troy , where he graduated from Troy High. At 19, he joined the service and worked as an MP for 12.5 years. He was honorably discharged and settled in Tacoma. Charles also worked at Atlas Foundary and, later BHP Steel where he retired for medical reasons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. J. (Sr.) and Elizabeth McCarthy. He is survived by siblings Mary Posniewski of Troy, Bernard McCarthy of Vero beach, FL, and James McCarthy of Tacoma. He also leaves behind 5 children-Charles E. McCarthy, Kelley McCarthy, Charlye McCarthy-Clark, John McCarthy, and Nicole Hoag-as well as 8 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park June 7 at 2pm in the Garden Chapel.
