Celebrating the Life of Major (R) Chad Ward Weyhrauch
Chad Ward Weyhrauch, born on September 28, 1972 in Mankato, MN passed away on November 4, 2018 in Washington state. In 1996, Chad graduated from Minnesota State University with a degree in Psychology. Chad married Brenda Jo Bennett Weyhrauch on August 14, 1993 at Gustavus Adolphus Christ Chapel in St. Peter, MN. Together they had three children: Bennett Ward, Nora Louise, and Ella Christina.
MAJ(R) Chad Weyhrauch was a combat veteran, recently retiring after more than 21 years of dedicated and honorable service to the nation as an Army Military Intelligence Officer. Chad enlisted in the military in 1996, studying Russian at the Presidio of Monterey, CA, becoming an accomplished Russian linguist. After six years as an enlisted soldier, Chad attended Officer Candidates School, graduating in 2006. Chad served in conflict zones in Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan earning the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Action Badge, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan Campaign Medals, NATO Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Chad held numerous positions from Platoon Leader to Battalion Operations Officer and most recently as the 7th Infantry Division Deputy Intelligence Officer at Joint Base Lewis-McCord. Chad was a highly-accomplished officer, earning numerous intelligence credentials and qualifications through his military education as well as earning his Master's Degree from Webster’s University in Business and Organizational Security Management. Chad and his family truly lived an Army life, serving all across the nation as well as abroad in both Germany and NATO Headquarters in Belgium.
When described by those who loved and knew him best, all talk about how much he made them laugh, how he supported his soldiers, and the deep love he had for his wife and children.
Services for Major (Ret) Chad Ward Weyhrauch will be as follows:
Friday, November 30, 2018 at 12:15 p.m. will be his military ceremony located at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th Street Kent, WA 98042.
The celebration of life ceremony will be on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at DuPont Community Presbyterian Church, 502 Barksdale Ave, DuPont, WA 98327.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Chad’s name be made to the American Cancer Society.
