Cesario "Cesar" Sarmiento Cueva's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Cesario “Cesar” Sarmiento Cueva
December 28, 1951 – October 23, 2025
Cesario “Cesar” Sarmiento Cueva, 73, of Lakewood, Washington, passed away at his home on October 23, 2025.
Cesar was born on December 28, 1951, in Santo Domingo, San Manuel, Pangasinan Philippines, to Domingo and Vicenta Cueva. He joined the United States Army in 1973 and proudly served his country for 20 years before retiring. Following retirement, Cesar moved on to another long career with 20 years of service with the United States Postal Service before his well-earned retirement in 2015.
In 1974, Cesar met the love of his life, Teresita “Tessie”, and they married two years later in 1976. Together for close to 50 years, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and faith — a bond that grew stronger with each passing year.
Cesar was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend whose greatest joy came from spending time with his loved ones. He shared his love through food, often found in the kitchen or by the grill, perfecting his barbecue for loved ones. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and taking long road trips with his wife, Tessie. He could always be counted on to bring joy to any gathering with his warm smile and love for karaoke.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Teresita Cueva; his children, Ceres Cueva and Cesar Cueva Jr.; his cherished grandson, Micah Cesario Gaoay and sisters; Julie Carangue, Luz Almogela, Flor Ricardo and Pina Camanyag. He is also remembered with love by extended family and many friends whose lives he touched deeply.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home. Burial services will take place at 12:30 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Park with a reception to follow at the Celebration of Life Center.
Cesar will be remembered for his strength, kindness, humor, and the deep love he had for his family. His spirit touched everyone around him. His warmth and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
