On the morning of November 26, 2005, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and loyal daughter entered into her final resting place.Cathern L. Ragland, of 3727 Portland Avenue, Tacoma, Washington passed away on November 26, 2005 at Park Rose Care Center, after a long illness.Her family is extremely grateful to the staff at Park Rose for their excellent care and compassion shown to Cathern and her family. She was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama to James and Pearlie Green (Barton). She grew up there and moved to Tacoma in the early 1940Â's to be with her husband, who was in the military.Cathern worked at Ft. Lewis Army Base for several years and was active in church, fraternal organizations, and social clubs in Tacoma and Seattle Washington, and Portland Oregon.She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers.Cathern is survived by two sons Robert L. Ragland II (Evelyn) and Frederick J. Ragland (June) of Tacoma, three sisters and one brother. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.Viewing will be held 1:00 to 9:00 PM on Friday, December 2, 2005 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 3, 2005 in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center.
