Catherine Mary Witherspoon's Obituary
Catherine Mary Homan Witherspoon Born Oct. 10, 1931; died Apr. 26, 2008, Catherine was preceded by her father Peter Barto, mother Francis Mary Barto, aunt Mary Kalcich, sister Pearl McLaughlin, and first husband Raymond Homan. She is survived by her husband Joe Witherspoon, son Michael Homan, daughter Michelle Jindra, granddaughter Allison Evaro, great-granddaughters Olivia and Ava Evaro, sister Joni Langendoerfer, 6 nieces and nephews, and 7 great-nieces and nephews Catherine was born in Rock Springs, WY; passed away in Lakewood, WA. She lived a very full and busy life. She enjoyed her family, friends and her career. Raised 2 children in Tacoma while working at FFV, retiring after 33-1/2 years. The many friends she made at FFV remained friends during her life. As the wife of Raymond Homan, she cared for him for several years before his passing in 1993. Her son Michael Homan lives in Tacoma and daughter Michelle Jindra lives in Boise. Catherine met and married a wonderful man in the last years of her life. Joe Witherspoon brought great happiness and love to Catherine. She enjoyed the friends and adventures she and Joe did together. Meeting old friends and golfing in Hawaii in February was a must. She was an avid golfer and was a member of the Grasshopper golfing group. She supported her husband Joe in his many activities with the Tacoma Astronomical Society. The world will miss Catherine. Memorial service will be held on the 17th of May at 3:00 p.m. in the Celebration of Life Center at Mountain View Funeral Home.
