Catherine M. Wardlow's Obituary
Catherine M. Wardlow passed away on the afternoon of May 4, 2005, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 13, 1948, in Tacoma, Washington, and lived her entire life here. The world has lost a strong, brave soul, the heavens have gained a bright and shining star. Her loving husband, Don, and family were by her side, every step of her journey. Through her battle, Cathie never complained or ever gave up. She would always say, Â"IÂ'm not sick, I just have cancerÂ", she never wanted to be a burden to anyone. Family was the center of CathieÂ's universe. She loved having her home filled with family and friends. She enjoyed preparing big parties and just watching everyone enjoying themselves at her home. A few years ago, she Â"discoveredÂ" Maui, and knew that she had found paradise on earth. Last Fall, her entire family vacationed on Maui, and enjoyed every second that they were there. In brought a smile to her face many times over, as someone would mention another adventure that they had shared. Cathie lived her dream. In the summer of 2006, her ashes will be spread in the ocean at sunset, off of her favorite beach in Maui, with her family in attendance. Preceding Cathie in death were her parents, Harold and Madeline Burdett. She is survived by her soul mate and loving husband, Don, their sons Craig (Lisa) Wardlow, and Troy Wardlow. The light of her life, were her granddaughters, Shelby and Breanna Wardlow. She is also survived by her sister Pat Thompson, mother and father-in-law Leitha and Don Wardlow Sr., sisters-in-law Diane Haines and Kathy Wardlow. The family would also like to thank Tom, her hospice nurse. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 14, 2005 in the Mountain View Valley Chapel.
