Catherine Genevieve Eichinger's Obituary
Catherine, “Kay”, “Katie” Eichinger was born January 3, 1931 in Albany, New York. Kay was a successful TV commercial and runway model in New York City before meeting and marrying the love of her life Joseph Charles Eichinger, a Naval aviator, in Corpus Christi, TX on September 21, 1957.
Throughout her life, Kay’s unwavering faith in God and Jesus Christ carried her through all. Her faith was her strength and the cornerstone of her family. Kay touched and enriched many lives with her compassion, steadfast spirit, and generosity. Her life journey with Joe, of almost 57 years, gave her tremendous happiness. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
After a decade long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Kay succumbed to complications due to the disease on Friday, March 28, 2014 with her family at her side.
Her legacy will continue through her survivors including her husband Joe; her six children: Victoria (Andy) McDonald of Tacoma, WA; Mary (Col. John, USAF Retired) Kent of Washougal, WA; Patricia (Mark) Scriffiny of Littleton, CO; Katrina (Chris) Fehring of Novato, CA; Dr. Josef (Jenan) Eichinger of Gig Harbor, WA; and Sarah (AJ) Forysiak of Woodbridge, VA; and her thirteen grandchildren: Catherine (Tom) Mosich, John McDonald; Sarah and Gabriel Kent; Luke, John, and Jacob Scriffiny; Cole, Grant, and Marie Fehring; Elle Eichinger; and Adam and Genevieve Forysiak. Kay is also survived by her brothers Jack, Dan, Al, and Joe Donnelly; sisters Pat Donnelly and Marion Nolan; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Preceding her in death were her sister, Margaret “Maggie” Clancy of Colonie, NY and her grandniece, Caitlin Elizabeth Clancy of Guilderland, NY.

Prayers for Kay will take place during Eucharistic Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at 4:30 pm and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 11, 2014, at 11:00 am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Gig Harbor, WA. A luncheon will take place after the mass at the church. Internment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA.
