Carolyn Paulette Mallory-Bussell's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Bussell. Born in December in Baltimore to James and Pauline Mallory/Warfield, Carolyn was a beacon of strength and love to all who knew her.
Carolyn grew up in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and attended Attucks High School. She later moved to Tacoma, where she served the city for over 20 years as a paralegal, demonstrating her commitment to justice and community service.
She was previously married to Milton Ray Bussell, and their love brought forth five wonderful children: Pamela Davis, Monica Lapoole, Stephanie Bussell, Debbie Bussell, and Dennis Bussell. Carolyn was also a proud grandmother to Daniel, Willie, Eric, Dennia, Ramsey, Sterling, James, Mallory, Van, and Ray, and was blessed with five great-grandchildren.
Carolyn had a zest for life that was infectious. She had a passion for music, especially R&B and gospel, and could often be found dancing to her favorite tunes. She enjoyed sewing, taking cruises, and was an avid follower of politics on the news. She also loved watching old movies, singing in the choir, and teaching her children how to cook.
Carolyn's legacy extends beyond her immediate family. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of many friends and family members on both the west and east coasts. Her spirit, her strength, and her love will continue to inspire us all.
In memory of Carolyn, we ask that you cherish your loved ones, dance to your favorite song, and live each day with kindness and joy, just as she did. She will be deeply missed.
