Caroline (Stephens) Hall
Caroline Catherine Hall passed away on August 19, 2013 in Tacoma, Washington at the age of 93. She was born on April 21, 1920 in Bridger, Montana and was one of 12 children of Amy and Emery Stephens. Caroline graduated from Toppenish High School and moved to Tacoma with her husband Ken after their marriage in Walla Walla on August 6, 1941.
Caroline is survived by her loving husband Ken, with whom she recently celebrated 72 happy years of marriage. She is also lovingly remembered by her son, Mike (Kristine) Hall of Gig Harbor, sisters, Ruth Cain, Betty (Fred) Low, and Dorothy Ortolf, brothers, Robert (Mary Helen) Stephens, Wilbur (Pat) Stephens, Bill (Helen) Stephens, her grandchildren, Nicole (Kyle), Jared and son, Dillon, Tom, Dale (Anna) and daughter, Jane Elizabeth, Dana, Karissa, and many deeply loved nieces and nephews.
Caroline was preceded in death by her beloved son, Larry Allen Hall, and siblings Vera, Vernon, Edna, Glen, and Wilma.
Caroline was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She kept a lovely home and always had homemade cookies to serve and to share. She is remembered as a valuable sales employee at Rhodes Department Store, as well as working in the family business.
Ken and Caroline spent many happy years in retirement. They enjoyed traveling, golfing, dancing, playing cards with friends, and celebrating family events and visits. She will be greatly missed.
Private graveside services will be held, followed by a “Celebration of Life” at The Weatherly Inn, 6016 N. Highlands in Tacoma, beginning at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 7, 2013.
