Carole Renee Peterson's Obituary
Carole Renee Peterson went home to be with her Heavenly Father on January 13, 2003 at Tacoma General Hospital, surrounded by her family after fighting an eight and half-year battle with colon cancer. Carole endured terrible pain during her struggle with treatments, but never gave up and fought to the very end. She always had a smile for you while maintaining a positive attitude with courage and determination. She will be remembered for her strength, laughter, and zest for life. Carole was born in Tacoma, WA on July 13, 1949 to Robert and Bettye Andren. She grew up in Tacoma and later graduated from Wilson High School. Carole married her beloved husband Paul on November 9, 1968. Together they traveled and were stationed in South Dakota and Colorado, while in the Air Force. In 1978 they returned home to Washington where Carole became a leading Avon Representative, eventually expanding into Real Estate where she successfully impacted the market. After beginning her battle with cancer she went to work for GrassiÂ's Flowers where she enjoyed her love of design and sales. Carole was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, who was treasured by her family and friends. She always had a smile and word of encouragement for everyone while positively impacting many people. She was well known for her contagious laugh that became her trademark. Carole loved her family, grandchildren, gardening, camping and particularly her Swedish heritage. Her greatest joy was her personnel relationship with her Lord and Savior. Carole was preceded in death by her father Robert and sister Pattie. She is survived by her husband Paul, son Eric (Shannon), daughter Paula Buehler (James), mother Bettye, sister Sherlie Gleason (Fred), brothers: James, Richard (Lynn), Robert, William, Steven (Maria) and John, grandchildren: Kirsten Renee Buehler and Andren James Buehler, nephews: Nicholas and Brian and niece, Kelsie Andren. Heartfelt thanks and gratitude are extended by the family to Dr. Klatt (Surgeon) and Dr. Jay Zatakin (Oncologist) and all his fellow staff members in the clinic and 6J of Tacoma General Hospital. There are too many to mention, but for all of you who treated Carole, we want you to know how special and wonderful you are. Dedicated professionals with loving hearts of gold.A viewing will be held for Carole on Thursday January 16, 2003 at Mt. View Funeral Home from 11 AM to 9 PM.
