Carol M Wilsey's Obituary
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt peacefully passed away on June 10, 2023.
Carol was born on June 7, 1939, to Clara and Archie Taylor in Tacoma, WA, the city she proudly called home. Attending Arlington Elementary, Gray Junior High, and graduating from Lincoln High School, she delighted in reconnecting with old school friends and looked forward to class reunions.
Picking up the violin at age 10, Carol played into her 80s. Her senior orchestra performed at retirement homes and every fall at the Puyallup Fair. Her passion for sharing music brought her joy, and it enriched the lives of those who had the pleasure of hearing her play.
During the years she was raising her five children, Carol worked at the legendary Frisbee's Bakery in the Lincoln District. From behind the counter, her kind and infectious smile welcomed all; she loved making new friends and chatting with the regulars.
Throughout her life, Carol relied upon her faith. Every Sunday, she attended church services at Life Center and found comfort in Bill Streeter's Sunday Bible Study along with her women's faith group on Tuesdays. The annual family outing to the Singing Christmas Tree was a highlight of our holiday season.
Above all Carol valued spending time with her family and friends. While her children were in high school, on a crisp, fall Friday night you'd find her enthusiastically cheering for her children and their friends from the stands at Lincoln Bowl. Other cherished memories included playing games with her grandchildren and celebrating special occasions-always with her family's favorite "Happy Day" cake in hand. More recently, she was a dedicated fan at her grandchildren's numerous musical and athletic events. One of our mom's greatest virtues was her compassion for animals, and throughout the years, many beloved pets became a part of the family.
Carol is survived by her five loving children, Ronald Vindivich, Michael (Julie) Vindivich, Sandra (Steve) Snider, John (Karen) Vindivich, and Paul (Chrisy) Vindivich; grandchildren, Tyron, Ashley, Collin, Kristyn, Miles, Courtney, Vivianne, Jillian, Savannah, Ivy, and Andrew; and great-grandchildren Brody, Emily, Carter, Easton, Ember, Finley, and Jameson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Ronald Vindivich, her second husband Glen Wilsey, as well as her brothers Lloyd, Alan, and Richard, and her sisters Barbara and Sharon.
Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for the care our mother received from the staff at Brookdale Allenmore and the Hospice Team at MultiCare. In addition, they created a peaceful space so we could be present with our mom as she passed into the loving arms of God.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held on August 4, at noon at the Life Center Main Campus. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor and remember Carol's life and the impact she had on all who knew and loved her.
Our mom is deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in peace.
