Carol Mae Craig's Obituary
Carol Mae Hahnenkratt CraigCarol was born in Cañon City, Colorado, August 29, 1930. She lived in Tacoma, Washington most of her life where she graduated from Clover Park High School in 1948. Carol passed away on July 1, 2003 at St. Joseph's Hospital after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.She leaves behind her husband of fifty years, Charles W. Craig of Roy, Washington, her daughter, Kimberly Ann Craig of Olympia, sister and brother in law, Jimmie and Fred Warnell of Tacoma, and niece Sunny Cairns of Tacoma. She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Alan Craig and her brother, David of Tacoma.Prior to her retirement Carol was employed by Masonic Grand Lodge of Washington in the Grand Secretary's office. An active person, she was a life member of Tau Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. She served as a Past Honored Queen of Bethel #8, Past Guardian of Bethel #32, Past Grand Treasurer of the Grand Guardian Council, (International Order of Jobs Daughters). She was a member of Tyler Chapter #248 (Order of the Eastern Star). Carol was a charter member of Lakewood Court #70, Past Royal Matron of Lincoln Court #24 and Past Grand Royal Matron of Washington (Order of the Amaranth.)Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Baker and all his staff at St. Claire Medical Center for their special caring and friendship for Carol throughout her illness.Carol will be greatly missed by her family and friends.A memorial service will be held on July 10th at 12:00 noon at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1207 S 43rd, Tacoma, WA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Amaranth Scholarship Fund, 2722 93rd St. Ct. S., Lakewood, WA 98499, or Pierce County AIDS Foundation.
