My name is Lori Abreu and I am Ted Abbott's daughter. I just learned of Carol's passing. My family and I send our sincere condolences to Frank and his family. I only met Carol a few times but I remember her to be a very lovely person. I know Ted thought the world of her.
I only met Carol a few years ago and met with her once a year to do business. When I called today to schedule our next appointment I did so with eager anticipation because I knew I would have another long insightful conversation with this brilliant and kind woman in the lunchroom at their shop in Tacoma. Carol was a one-of--kind unique woman and I'm certain if she made those around her feel as good as she treated me I'm sure her family and friends were blessed. My day is saddened with the news of her passing and I pray that Carol's friends and family find comfort and strength. She is missed.

What a beautiful and full life story she lived! I only have a few memories of Carol, visiting the elementary school that Cyndi and I attended together. Nevertheless, I remember her presence was outstanding, even through twelve year old eyes. She was stately, and dignified, well dressed and strikingly pretty. Most of all, I remember that her smile was warm and kind; a smile I quickly recognized in her recently posted photos. As I thought of her, I wondered, "how is it I remember this clearly someone I saw occasionally 46 (or more) years ago"? And what comes to mind is how true is this quote from Maya Angelou... "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel". I imagine Carol was one of those people, who made a difference in other's lives wherever she went, perhaps without even realizing it. It's easy to see the exceptional connection she had with Frank and Cyndi, and my heart goes out to them for their great loss, and to Lisa, Tiffany, and all of her loved ones as well.
