Carol Anita Runyan
Carol Anita Runyan of Tacoma, WA passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Tacoma General Hospital on Wednesday, August 31st 2011, at the age of 80. Carol was born on August 15th, 1931 in Tacoma, WA, to parents Gordon Merle Gay and Dorthy Elizabeth Gay(Coon). Carol was employed by Kress's for 3 years in downtown Tacoma. She was then employed by K-mart on 72nd St. where she worked for 25 years until she retired in 1994. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, playing slot machines, watching Food Network, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Bill R. Runyan; Five children: Jim Runyan, Beth Runyan (Daughter-in-Law), Ken Runyan (Kim), Carol Meyer (Walter), Bill Runyan (Teresa), Doug Runyan (Sue); Ten grandchildren: Dustin Runyan, Danny Robinson, Sheila Doffing (Corey), Lisa Runyan, Melissa Stuen (Phil), Kelli Runyan, Ambre Meyer, Tarah Runyan, Jonathan Runyan, Alicia Meyer; Five great grandchildren: Kylee Runyan, Tanner Palmer, Baker Palmer, Navaeh Robinson, Emma Doffing. She was predeceased by: Vonnie Runyan (Sister), Ronald Gay (Brother), Billy Lee Runyan (Son), Mike Runyan (Son). She will be laid to rest on Saturday, September 10th at 1pm at Mountain View Funeral Home. Viewing hours will be from 10am to 9pm on Friday, September 9th. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
