Carl Goodwin Royal, Sr. was born on July 29, 1929 in Seaife, Arkansas to his late parents, Alfonso D. Royal, Sr. and Beatrice A. Johnson Royal. Carl married Nori Ueyama, and they were united in holy matrimony on January 16, 1963 in Tokyo, Japan. Together they were happily married for 53 years and resided in Lakewood, Washington. They had three children, Carl G. Royal, Jr. of Stanton, CA, Evelyn N. Royal of Lakewood, WA, and Dianne C. Royal of Seattle, WA.
Carl also leaves behind two grandsons, Nathan J. Digel and Terrence K. Digel of Seattle, WA; three sisters, Evelyn G. Jones (Harding-deceased) of Knoxville, TN, Doris E. Gillum (Orlando-deceased) of Bowling Green, KY, and Ada M. Haley (Ulysses-deceased) of Chicago, IL; three brothers, Alfonso D. Royal, Jr. (Lurtee) of Galveston, TX, Eddie D. Royal Glover (Sheila) of Rio Rico, AZ, and Roland D. Royal (Vicki) of Chicago, IL; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Royal of Philadelphia, PA and Lucille Royal of Pine Bluff AR; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. One sister, Beatrice A. Williams (Robert), and four brothers, Henry Royal, Dr. Hal A. Royal, Alfonia Royal (Emma), and Alfonso C. Royal, preceded Carl in death.
