Carl Alvin Johnson's Obituary
Carl A Johnson was born on 12 December 1936 in Lake Providence, LA to Robert Johnson and Orealis Johnson. He was the fourth of 11 children. Carl attended Bakersfield High School, Bakersfield CA receiving his high school diploma. After graduation he joined the US Army, retiring in 1981 after serving honorably for 22 years as a Military Policeman (MP) with a sub-specialty as an Equal Opportunity Non-Commissioned Officer. Following his retirement from the US Army, Carl went into Law Enforcement with the Dept. of Defense (US Navy) retiring after 16 years of honorable service. Carl was stationed in Korea and Germany having lived in several cities throughout his life.
Carl married his loving wife Bok N. Johnson on 22 August 1961, in Seoul, South Korea. He was a deacon of Tacoma First Glory Church. He served in the US Army for 22 years, joining in 1959, retiring in 1981. He attained the rank of First Sergeant and honorably received the following medals: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (two oak leaf clusters) and Meritorious Service Medal (7 awards)

A variety of Carl’s hobbies would include: running, cars, coaching baseball, outdoors and gardening. His favorite music included: CW, R&B, Classical Music, and Christian.
Carl is survived by his loving wife Bok N of Lakewood, his caring son Tony and daughter-in-law Kim of San Diego CA, his cherished grandchildren Alexandria Johnson of Berkeley CA and Sean Johnson of Sonoma CA. Carl is survived by his four brothers Edward, Robert, Gene, Ernest and four sisters Anne, Mattie, Habiba (Dorothy) and Karen. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
