Carl Alfred Berg's Obituary
Carl Al Berg was born in St. Thomas, ND, on February 15, 1914, to Carl Oscar Berg and Anna Matson Berg and passed away in Kent, Ohio, on February 24, 2008. He has the distinction of having joined the Army for several years, then the Navy, serving inEDutch Harbor in the Aleutian Islands. Then in 1947 he joined the Air Force for 26 years of service. Carl moved to Washington in 1939 where he met and married Rose Halmo. After the Army, Carl worked at Bufflen Lumber Company in Tacoma. He tenderly cared for his beloved wife, Rose, until she died of cancer in 1970. After Rose's death, Carl met and married Betty Ghan and worked at Brown & Haley Candy Company. In 1975, he and Betty relocated to Mesa, AZ, where they resided for 35 years. Following Betty's death in October, 2005, Carl was graciously taken care of by longtime friends and caregivers Jan Maughan in Mesa, AZ and Kim Karpinecz in Kent, OH. The graveside service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW in Lakewood on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 2:30pm.
