Camilo Miranda Ramirez's Obituary
Camilo was called to be with the Lord on August 23, 2005. Born in Ormoc, Leyte, Philippines on July 24, 1918. He was the 13th and youngest child of Isidro Ramirez and Basilia Miranda RamosAt age 17 Camilo, known as Â"RammyÂ", served proudly in the Philippine Army and the US Army Philippine Scouts. He was awarded several medals for serving in World War II under General MacArthur, escaped from a Japanese POW camp, and fought in the Korean War. Â"RammyÂ'sÂ" military career expanded over 22 years of active duty service and 28 years of nursing at the VA Hospital in Lakewood. Camilo will be greatly missed by his lovely wife: Sofia.Bustillo Ramirez and his seven children: Sue (Nagel), Kamilla (Maii), Dolores (Downing), Janet (Taitingfong), Angela (Ligon), Anthony Ramirez, Dennise (Gibson) and 14 grandchildren. WeÂ're celebrating his life with friends and family at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood. Visitation is on Friday, Sept. 2nd (1pm-9pm) with Rosary at 6pm.Memorial service will be held in the Garden Chapel on Saturday, Sept. 3rd at 10am.Reception is immediately after service.
