SMSGT Calvin Pearson (U.S Air Force Retired)'s Obituary
In loving memory of our dad, SMSGT (Ret) Calvin Pearson, who peacefully passed away on June 19th, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Calvin was born in Moultrie, Georgia, on October 6th 1938. At the age of 17 he enlisted and joined the Air Force in 1956 beginning a remarkable career of excellence and distinction in service to his country that spanned 30 years. Known for his unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership, Calvin’s dedication was admired by all who knew him. He never missed a day of work. We inherited our strong work ethic from our dad.
In 1961, he met his lovely wife Olimpia S Pearson in Madrid, Spain and they married the following year. They shared 60 years of marriage in a life of fun filled travel adventures, lifetime friendships and a loving family. They both loved to visit their extended families both in Spain and Moultrie, GA where they would travel for family reunions every year.
Calvin was a great husband, father, grandpa and loyal friend to all. He was a kind, nice and generous soul. He loved sports especially supporting his favorite team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers' football team. He loved fishing, bowling, playing tennis, softball, cards and exploring the world being immersed in different cultures. He loved playing his music which included Jazz, Blues, Soul and Classical, along with Nat King Cole and Ray Charles. One of his favorite songs was ‘Georgia on my Mind’ which always reminded him of his hometown of Moultrie, GA which he loved. One of his greatest joys came from being present for every milestone and moment in the lives of his children and grandchildren, from graduations to birthdays and weddings, to cheering and supporting them at basketball games and practices.
He graduated from Bellevue College with a business degree using his G.I. Bill in his fifties. A remarkable accomplishment that fills our entire family with pride
