Dr. Byron M. Dodge's Obituary
Dr. Byron M. Dodge, born in Tacoma April 11, 1933 passed away peacefully September 8, 2016. Byron was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Maurice and Grace Dodge. His wife Junice also preceded him in death in 2004. Byron is survived by his three sons, Byron Jr., Kirk (Beth) and Stuart (Erin) and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Carol (Robert) Pfeiffer and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dr. Dodge graduated from Stadium High school (‘51), The University of Washington and George Washington University Medical School. After graduating from Medical School, his travels in the US Air Force as a flight surgeon, took him all across the country, until he and Junice landed back home in Tacoma, where he started his Ophthalmology practice in 1967 until his retirement in 1996.
His family would like to thank all of Byron’s caregivers at Tacoma Lutheran Home and River Rock Family Living for their kind and loving care during the last years of his life. At Byron’s request, there will be no funeral service. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
