Bwalya David Melu's Obituary
BWALYA DAVID MELU was born to Bwalya Snr and Enid Melu on January 21st, 1985 at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka Zambia.
He did his early years of education in Zambia where he attended the following schools: North Mead Church pre-school – Son-Shine School, Namununga Primary School and Chudleigh House Primary School. He did most of his Secondary or High school at The International School in Lusaka up to 11th Grade (Form4), and thereafter he completed 12th Grade/Form 5 and Form 6 in the United Kingdom at St. Paul’s Catholic Secondary School in Milton Keynes.
David moved to the Auburn area in King County WA State in year 2003 together with the rest his family. Upon arrival in WA he enrolled at Green River Community College where he graduated with an Associates Degree in Business Administration in 2011.
In terms of work, David had a short stint at Target Stores working as an associate. He then had to move back to Zambia in 2011, where he worked briefly for Standard Chartered Bank. His last job in Zambia before returning to the United States was that of Logistics Specialist working Shoprite. When he returned to the Seattle area, he worked at Amazon Fulfillment Center as an Associate.
Bwalya always had an entrepreneurial spirit managing some side projects: he loved to transact on eBay, did Uber, Door Dash and Amazon Flex etc. He also loved to cook and had skills to produce perfect thanksgiving dinners, with mouthwatering golden-brown Turkey. His Other interests included technology; he was the family go to guy to fix tech issues even remotely while he lived in Zambia especially mum would call him for trouble shooting computer issues.
Bwalya passed on at home in presence his sister Deborah, and mum Enid. He has always been a lovable, kind- and tender-hearted soul, whose fight with illness revealed a resilient faith filled man who found his mission in encouraging those he family and friends, even as he bravely fought for his life. He was a beloved son, brother, and nephew who will be greatly missed by his loving family both immediate, extended and friends.
