Heartfelt condolences to all the family and friends of this spectacular woman. My mother, Clara, met Detta in a Bible Study Group at Olympic View Baptist Church and she held their friendship very close to her heart. Mom passed away and Detta then extended her friendship to me. When I think of one of the most wonderful Christian ladies I've know, Detta is whom comes to mind first. It was a privilege to know such a fine woman and she will be greatly missed. Love and Prayers for all.##imported-begin##Sheri Wills##imported-end##

Dear York Family,
I was so sorry to read about Detta in the paper. She was such a beautiful lady inside and out and a wonderful servant to her Lord. May your precious memories of her be of comfort during this most difficult time. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Dottie, Tom, Don we were very sorry to hear about Aunt Detta's death. Words are never enough when you lose someone you love as much as you loved your mom. She was a very special lady. I know she will be missed by all of you, Uncle Leo, her many friends and her family. Her sister, Twila Marshall, is with me now and mom was so sorry that her health wouldn't allow her to travel to be there for all of you. Please stay in touch. I know mom would like to hear from you. Take care of yourselves and your dad. Remember that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
With much love your aunt, Twila Marshall and cousin Linda Marshall Strickland and family##imported-begin##Linda Strickland##imported-end##
So sorry to hear about Detta. She is a cousin of mine and I knew her when I was a little girl. I was especially close to Jewel Ray and my family lived close to them in Missouri. Burndetta was very special to her sisters and I'm sure will be sorely missed by many.

Dear John & Family,
My sincere condolence on the loss of Delta. I loved her also. She did so much for everyone, you also John. Thanks for all the years of help at Tower Lanes. I do hope that Joey is getting along okay.

It is said that God brings people into your life for a reason. We met Detta during a very difficult time in our life. She was always a joy to see on Saturday mornings at the bowling alley, where our son bowled with Joey. It wasn't long before she became Memaw to our son Matt, who thought she was the greatest and could do no wrong. We looked forward to seeing her and John on those Saturdays, they seemed to just light up the place. I know she will be greatly missed. May God bless you all.
