Dr. Bulah Pearl Miller's Obituary
Dr. Bulah Pearl Miller, age 67, died peacefully in Puyallup, Washington on January 1, 2017. She was born March 18, 1949 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where she lived until her adult life. Her parents were Eddie and Mary Jefferson, she was the 5th of 6 children.
In 1969 she married Walter J. Miller Jr., the father of her sons. In the 1980's she moved to Tacoma, Washington and began her career as a Registered Nurse at Western State Hospital in Lakewood. She continued her education receiving a Master's degree in Horticulture from University of Washington and in 2000 she graduated from The Bishop A.L. Hardy School of Theology, receiving her Doctorate degree. She eventually retired in 2007 after serving 25 years.
Bulah could be described in the words of Live, Love, Laugh, Learn and Legacy. Her family being the most important to her. She enjoyed gardening and gospel music and traveled and ministered to people through music. She was a member of the True Deliverance Church and presiding Pastor. Bulah will be remembered as a beautiful and educated woman who will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her Sons, Walter J. Miller III (Emile), Brian L. Miller, Mark Quattlebaum (Sharese) and David Quattlebaum; Grandchildren, Ebony, Davon, Elisha, Makaillan, Essence, Trenese, Walaya, Ciara, Alicia, Olivia, Eden, Joseph, Stephan, Aaron and Asia; Great-Grandchild Davontae; Brother Jessie Jefferson, Joyce and Pat Jefferson also Daughter-in-laws and God Children; Special Friend who she considered a sister Karolyn White and a host of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her Parents Eddie and Mary; Siblings Annie, Mary, J.C. and Winston.
Services for Bulah will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017 in the Celebration of Life Center, Aspen Chapel with a reception to follow in the Willow Room at Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Lakewood.
