Chief Warrant Officer 4 (Ret, US Army) Bryan Maurice Walsh, aka “Froggy” and “Chief”
CW4 (Ret) Bryan M. Walsh, age 78, passed away in peace on October 3rd, 2018, at home in Spanaway, WA surrounded by family and loved ones.
Bryan was born May 19, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York. A veteran of the Vietnam and Gulf War, he served in the US Army for 29 years. He was the eldest son of the late Anthony John Walsh and Rita (Mahony) Walsh.
Bryan is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Min Ja Walsh of Spanaway, WA; their three daughters—Kim Winter (Woody Grant) of Gilbert AZ, Brenda Hollon (Greg) of Seattle WA, and Sharon Bauer (Jim) of Austin TX; and his beloved cat, Guy. Bryan was adored by his loving grandchildren—Kelsi Macdonald (Logan), James Grant, Sadie and Halle Hollon, and Charlee Bauer. Bryan is also survived by his two brothers Anthony Michael Walsh (Carol) of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ and James John Walsh (Mary) of Old Bridge, NJ. His two sisters Catherine “Kitty” Ellen Walsh and Rita Mary DiRienzo, and his feisty cat, Christie, preceded him in death.
Family will receive friends for the viewing service on Monday, October 8, 2018, from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW Lakewood, WA 98499.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday October 9, 2018, at St. Paul Chong Hasang Korean Catholic Parish, 1316 62nd Ave E Fife, WA 98424. Following the funeral Bryan will be interred at Gethsemane Cemetery, 37600 Pacific Hwy S Federal Way, WA 98003.
