Bryan Lee Robison's Obituary
Bryan Lee Robison was born June 2, 1969 and peacefully passed away of Glioblastoma Cancer on August 25, 2022. Born to Donna Gering (nee’ Orr, Robison) and Bruce Robison, he was first grandchild on either side of the family, immediately bringing exponential joy to this already loving family. His dad was deployed to basic training when Bryan was 2 days old, which meant all of the women in Brys’ life were left to fawn all over him for 2 years. His love of family started early and extended to the last breath he took
Bryan attended Wilson High School and lettered in 3 sports while he was there. A natural athlete, Bryan’s true love was baseball, playing on a traveling team throughout his high school years. He was known for his kindness, competitive spirit and sense of humor. In the last months of high school, Bryan began having seizures which put a halt to any post-high school sports career, but his love of sports never left.
Bryan worked for nearly 20 years at JCPenney and then spent the last 10 years working at Costco. He loved working, and particularly the relationships he fostered while employed at both places. His one desire, even after he was diagnosed with cancer last fall, was to be able to return to work.
Bryan is survived by his mother, Donna Gering (Steve), father Bruce Robison (Cindy), Grandfather Dick Orr and sister Angie Caldwell (Kelly). Additionally, he considered himself the luckiest guy in the world, as he leaves behind an extended network of ‘special’ family members who may not have been blood related, but important in all aspects of his life. Leanne Lucas, Step-Brothers Eric Ryan (Melissa), Matt Gering (Maydi), Kyle Cater. Step-Sisters Courtney Meek (Josh) and Gina Clinton (Eric). Not having any children of his own, he especially cherished his nieces and nephews, Morgan, Archie, Hayden, Austin, Dylan, Masen, Camden, Hunter, Laila, Jonathan, Andrei and Esteban.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, September 6 @2:00pm at Mountain View Funeral Home (Aspen Chapel), with a small reception following. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to Metro Parks to sponsor youth sports in memory of Bryan Robison (add his name in the notes field) Greater Metro Parks Foundation Donation or via mail at: Greater Metro Parks Foundation, 4702 South 19th, Tacoma, WA 98405.
Cancer sucks, but we are grateful for the caring support of Providence Hospice in Bryan’s final weeks. We will miss his kind spirit every day, but we take comfort in knowing he’s batting lead off and playing second base in heaven with Grandpa Leonard, Grandma Shirley and Grandma Joy.
