I met Philip when he was in 6th grade and came to stay in my daycare. He was such a wonderful addition to our little family. He always wanted cinnamon toast in the morning when he got there and on Friday mornings before school he'd compete with my daughter, Shelly, to win a large Hershey bar if he could spell all his spelling words correctly. Lol. He quite often won! Sometimes after school he'd ask for cinnamon toast again for snack instead of the snack I was offering and I couldn't tell that sweet, smiling boy 'no' so of course he(and the other kids) had cinnamon toast! His smile and self confidence along with his easy demeanor and great sense of humor were evident at that young age and I was so pleasantly surprised and happy to get the ability to reconnect with him as an adult when we found ourselves working together in the same call center about 10 years ago. We managed to sit next to each other and that gave us the ability to catch up, joke and laugh between calls. I saw his eyes sparkle as he shared with me the joy his wonderful children brought him and it was during that time he revealed to me that there was something special about my cinnamon toast because every time he tried to make it as an adult, it just wasn't the same. ❤️ This world has lost a very special man. He will be deeply missed. May the memories and joy he brought to everyone's lives comfort his family and friends through this tragic loss.
