I took a lot from my time with my grandpa, he had so much to share. A year and change on I find myself ever impressed with his ability to remain outwardly focused. He was a man who truly cared for the people in his life, and made a point of showing it. A young child's passing interest in dinosaurs became years of mailed newspaper clippings with small notes - "thought of you". When the interest became marine biology, the gift that Christmas was an educational camp with a week spent sailing around the San Juans. I know giving these things brought him so much joy, and in some ways I appreciate them even more now that I have perspective on what they meant. Every moment spent golfing together will be cherished forever. You are still remembered and loved Grandpa, you always will be.
