Bruce Columbia's Obituary
Bruce Allan Columbia
December 13, 1957 – February 14, 2024
Bruce Allan Columbia, devoted husband, loving father, wonderful son, cherished brother, playful grandpa, kind uncle and friend to many, passed away in his Tacoma home on February 14, 2024, surrounded by his family, at the age of 66.
Bruce was born on December 13, 1957, in Great Falls, MT, to his parents David Lee Columbia and Katherine Ann Columbia. He and his older brother, Scott Douglas, spent their early years in Great Falls until 1963 when their small family moved to Renton, WA. After several years, his sister, Rhonda Kaye, was also born to complete the Columbia family.
After graduating from Lindbergh High School, and attending University of Washington, Bruce’s working career included Boeing, Rockwell, and Idea Development, before completing his last 19 years at TSA, finishing as a Lead Officer. He was a loyal and hardworking employee, who always strived to do his best.
While it is no secret that Bruce loved to golf and watch the Seahawks, he loved and valued his family more! Bruce was preceded in death by his brother, Scott, and then by his dad, Dave. He is survived by his mother, Katherine (Kaye), wife, Tana, sister, Rhonda, son, Adam (Ann) Columbia, daughter, Emily Columbia, stepdaughter, Allison (Andrew) Farmer, seven grandchildren, niece, Lauren (Ben) Nelson, as well as numerous extended nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He leaves behind many friends and extended family who will miss his humble and kind demeanor and his compassionate heart for others.
Bruce was an active member at Celebration Church in Puyallup. We will be having a Celebration of Life service to honor him on Saturday, March 23. 2024 at 2 pm, reception to follow on site.
