Mother and Daughter Together Forever
Barbara Hawkins, 52, was taken from us on March 13. She was born in Tacoma on May 5, 1956 to Dolores (Halverson) and George Hawkins. Barbara worked for King County as a Corrections Officer for nine years and prior to that with the Des Moines Police Dept. She resided in Orting and enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Bretta, cooking, and taking care of her horses and dogs along with the many other animals on her farm. Bretta Hawkins, 33, was taken from us on March 14. She was born in Tacoma on October 12, 1975 to Barbara Hawkins. She graduated from Lincoln High School and had worked the last seven years for the Renton Police Department as a Specialist. She resided in Milton and loved baking, taking care of her horses and pets, listening to country music, collecting anything Disney-related, and spending time with her mother and friends. Both are survived by: Joan (Keith) Stubblefield, Jerry (Donna) Hawkins and family, Michele (Dan) Floyd and family, and Erik (Kristine) Gibbons and family. Memorial Service will be on Tuesday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. at The River of Life Church, 10615 SE 216th St, Kent. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pierce or King County Humane Society or WA State Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Both were dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
