Boyd W. SmithBoyd W. Smith, Â"FoxyÂ" died on May 21, 2004 peacefully at his home, with his loving family. He was born Aug. 22, 1922 on a homestead in Torrington, WY, and grew up in Nebraska City, NE. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a Longshoreman for 55 years on the Tacoma waterfront, from 1946 until he retired in 2001. He was a Business Agent for Local 23 in 1954 and became Foreman in Local 98 in the 60Â's. Boyd was a member of the Masons Lodge 22 and Elks Lodge 174. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Geri, children Linda Walsh and Dick Smith, grandchildren Chris Walsh, Shannon Walsh, and great-granddaughter Kailee Walsh, all of Tacoma. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kay Ann Sapp.Boyd enjoyed fishing on the Nehalem River in Oregon, and spent winters in Sun Lakes, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Tacoma. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2004 from 11AM Â- 9PM at Mt. View Funeral Home. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 11:00AM in the Mt. View Valley Chapel.
