Bonnie J. Humason's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Bonnie Jean Humason (Overton) announces her passing on July 28, 2022. She passed away peacefully while in the caring hands of the staff at Franciscan Hospice House in University Place, Washington, where her family had been able to spend several days with her.
Bonnie was born April 12, 1950, in Tacoma, Washington, the daughter of Roy and Alice Overton (both of whom preceded her in death). She was somewhat of a tomboy, spending lots of time under cars with her dad. She loved the outdoors and all animals (except snakes!!). After graduating from Wilson High School she went on to obtain a nursing degree. Unfortunately, she suffered a debilitating back injury early in her career. However, that never stopped her from being a caregiver for others and sharing all she had with those who needed it.
Bonnie spent several years in Hurricane and St. George, Utah, where she was an active member of Shepherd of the Hills Methodist Church. She enjoyed the sun and outdoors with many close friends, but moved back to Tacoma in September 2020, where she was able to spend time with more of her family, including lots of special Sunday dinners. She was devoted to bringing happiness to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her dog.
Bonnie is survived by her 2 sisters Linda Carlton (husband Carl) and Wanda Myers (husband Gary); her daughter Mary Cunningham (husband Dave); her son Thor Humason (wife April); 7 grandchildren (Ashley, Payton, Angel, Jayden, Anthony, Kaden and Kylan); 3 great granddaughters, nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, and her dog Chloe.
Many lives were touched by Bonnie during her 72 years. Although filled with pain and illness, that didn’t stop her from living life as full as possible and unconditionally loving those around her. Her kind heart and loving spirit will forever leave memories of how much she was loved.
Graveside services are being held at Mountain View Cemetery on August 13, 2022, followed by a Celebration of Life at another location.
