Bob Englander's Obituary
Bob Englander, a beloved member of the Puyallup community, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, in Puyallup, Washington. Born in Everett on December 11, 1934, Bob lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and a deep connection to the world around him.
For over 60 years, Bob made his home in Puyallup, witnessing its transformation from a quiet town to a thriving city. He was more than a resident—he was a pioneer, a steadfast presence who embraced the growth of his community while preserving its spirit.
Bob worked as a Railcar Mechanic for Burlington Northern Railroad for 42 years, where his skill and reliability earned him the respect of his peers. A true handyman, Bob could fix just about anything, and he did so with patience and care.
His love for animals was evident in everything he did. Bob had a special fondness for birds, crafting countless handmade birdhouses that adorned his yard and brought joy to the local wildlife. One of his favorite pastimes was simply sitting and watching the animals that visited—finding peace and wonder in their presence.
Bob’s kind heart, gentle nature, and quiet wisdom touched everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and all who had the pleasure of sharing in his life.
Though he is no longer with us, Bob’s legacy lives on in the community he helped shape, the lives he touched, and the birdhouses that continue to shelter the creatures he loved so dearly.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Rowena Dell Erb, father, Sylvester William Englander, a brother, Walter Sylvester Englander, and a sister, Dorothy Englander.
Bob is survived by his niece; Marilyn (Englander) Gregory, who will carry forward his memory with love and gratitude.
