Bob will be missed. I too was fortunate to work with Bob for about 10 years in RTV at the Costco in Tacoma. My prayers are with Bob's family. So sorry for your loss.
I was fortunate to work with Bob for many years at Costco in Tacoma, for a few years I even shared the "cage" with Bob working in RTV. We also shared a history of being ex-Safeway employees so we had a lot of memories to reflect on. I'll always remember fondly our time together working side by side and talking about sports, and listening to Bob's stale jokes! Bob was a wonderful man and it was always nice to see him and his lovely wife come in to shop after he retired. He will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace RTV Bob, your friend and coworker Steve Macumber.
I had the pleasure of working part time with Bob for nearly 20 years at Safeway while I was a school teacher. I often thought how nice it would be if my 6th graders aspired to be adults like Bob. He seemed to always have a ready smile and a story to share. He was also quite the sports fan. He and I had many good times at Cheney Stadium watching baseball. When I left Safeway I fell out of touch with Bob for 35 years. We got reunited last August. Thankfully my wife and I were able to spend several wonderful meals and afternoons together with Bob and Gerri. We visited Bob for an hour at the rehab facility on Alaska 8 days before he passed. Although his memory was a little fuzzy and he admitted he had no appetite, to us he was still the same old Bob. We found him lying in bed reading the sports page with ESPN on the television. He smiled throughout the hour. He beamed from ear to ear when he told us about his children helping Geri with getting a bed with rails set up for him when he returned home. He was so proud of their work. This was the last time we saw him. But what a way to remember him--wrapped up in sports, smiling with his friends and bragging about his kids! What a guy!
I met Bob back in 1974 when I started with Safeway. I was also one of Bob's managers when he worked at Costco. I've never worked with a more wonderful man. He always had an old Safeway/Costco story or joke to share with me. Always happy, always smiling, always Bob. I feel honored that I had the privilege of knowing and working with him. I truly miss him. My condolences to his wife, Gerri and his family.
Prayers and condolences to you and your family. I didn't know your father, but I'll bet you got your great personality and good nature from him. Thinking of you, my friend.

Bob was a great father-in-law, but more than that he was my friend. He was in my corner from day one which was cool to an immature kid like me, always had a great story to tell and good things to say about most. Rest in peace my awesome father-in-law. I will be leaving the yard till we see you in the big side yard in heaven. Love, Mark
Still remember the day he retired (sort of retired...lol, as I saw him many times coming back to work to give a helping hand). We had that chair on top of a stack of pallets! He sat up there with his rosy cheeks and smiled. Heaven has gained another beautiful soul. RIP and love to your family Bob 🙂
