Blendine Frances Mulhall Black's Obituary
Longtime Lakewood resident Blendine Frances Mulhall Black passed away on September 21, 2010. She was born on January 21, 1914 in Rainier, WA to Michael and Elizabeth (Weier) Mulhall. Blendine was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. She was known for her baking, especially her delicious apple pie and the dozens of cookies she baked every Christmas. Blendine was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Lt. Col. Peter P. Black, four sisters, and a brother. She is survived by her daughter Susan Black Fields, granddaughters Teri Fields Mattsen (Mike), Lori Fields McDonald (Ron), great-grandchildren Mollie and Olivia Mattsen and Peter McDonald, all from Lakewood, WA. She is also survived by her sister Laura Mulhall (98) of Anthony, NM, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you to her longtime caregiver, Eileen. There will be a private service for the immediate family. In her memory the family suggests memorial contributions to the Pierce County Library Foundation or a charity of your choice.
