Bjarne "Donald" Nelson
Bjarne "Donald" Nelson 10/14/1920 ~ 6/25/2008 Don was born on a small farm near Tacoma, WA and attended schools in the area. Moving to Los Angeles in 1939 he was employed in the aircraft industry. When the United States entered World War II, he enlisted in The Army Air Corps and became a navigator in troop carrier planes. He served in North Africa and the Mediterranean Theater of Operations. After returning from the war he attended the University of Puget Sound and earned a degree in geology. He operated his own machine shop until his retirement in 1985. Don and Eleanor have two children, Mark and Karen.
