Billie June Johnson's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Billie June Johnson (Jackson), Billie was born to the parentage of Monroe Lucus Jackson and Sarah Jane Jackson (Monroe) on January 4, 1953, in Waco, Texas. She was the only girl with four brothers. She attended many schools growing up due to segregation where she graduated from La Vega High School. During her life, Billie was a loving and devoted wife, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco, Texas, a retail associate at Wal-Mart stores in Forth Worth, Texas and in Peru, Indiana, a Hair Beautician in Boise, Idaho and an Avon associate in the town she lived in, Graham, Washington. Billie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Maranatha Baptist Church, Okinawa, Japan. On September 11, 1971, she was united in marriage to her husband Larry Willie Johnson. They were High school Sweethearts and had traveled the world together during Larry’s 24 years of military service.
Billie loved singing in the choir at Maranatha Baptist Church, Okinawa, Japan and sang at the base chapel on Hill Air Force Base, Utah where she shared her cooking recipes with church members and friends. These recipes she had gathered over the years are in her cookbook to this day. Billie loved to garden, collect many books, do many different kinds of crafts, and spend time together with her family. She was a private person but was unaware she was touching so many souls throughout her life. The dedicated care she was given by the doctors, nurses and chaplains who had witness her Fight the Good Fight and Keep the Faith as she crossed God’s Finish line, and finished her last race. Their commitment to her was a true testament of the light she had shined on those around her.
Billie was preceded in death by her father Monroe L. Jackson;mother Sarah J. Jackson; brothers Roland Jackson, Dwain Jackson and Stanley Jackson; daughter Lisa N. Johnson, AuntsOblee Monroe, Lebetha Bigham; and Uncle Alton Gooden.
