So sad to hear about Billie. I know this is 13 years late but wanted to share my thoughts. I helped Billie with one of her horses Charlie and she became an inspiration to me. I thought of her often as the years have gone by and now I wish I had reached out sooner. I knew her in the early 90s before I left Washington State. So glad she found someone to share her life with and it sounds like the last years of her life were very good. She will always remain an inspiration to me.

We spent hours on training runs on Ft.Lewis and days going to countless races and relays. We ran the Boston marathon together. We delighted in the good times and helped each other through the sad times. Billie was a dear, dear friend.##imported-begin##Nancy Hellyer##imported-end##
I have spent the last week remembering the wonderful times I had with Billie. Riding our horses together, training for the sound-to-narrows, being lucky enough to live at her farm for a time. We were so sorry to hear about Billie. She was a gutsy, courageous lady. We truly admired her for the way she spent her last year and know she gave you more nice memories. She was an inspiration to all of us. You two seemed meant for each other and I am sure the years you were married were some of the happiest years of her life. Take care and come see us. Billie was a great person. Kind to all living beings. She has shown great strength in her life and will be remembered by me as a good friend.
